USA Climbing is Seeking Qualified Candidates for Events Coordinator Position

 

USA Climbing is seeking a professional to fill a full-time Events Coordinator position. This individual will organize, manage, and deliver support for all of USA Climbing’s Local, Regional, and Divisional events and assist in the preparation and execution of USA Climbing’s National events.

USA Climbing National Headquarters – 537 West 600 South, Suite 300, Salt Lake City, Utah

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Remote management of all Local, Regional, and Divisional events.
    • Management of host materials inventory and distribution.
    • Communication with event organizers & host facilities.
    • Distribution, collection, and management of host agreements.
    • Oversight of events (scheduling, registration, results, etc).
  • Physical attendance and assistance at all National events.
    • Assist the Events Manager in onsite event preparation, execution, and tear down.
    • Assist in the management of event supplies (inventory, packing, shipping, etc)
  • Assist in the management of and coordination with Regional, Divisional, and National Coordinator teams.

Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management.
  • Team player mentality with flexibility and willingness to fulfill unforeseen responsibilities.
  • Ability to remotely manage a nation-wide team of dedicated volunteers.
  • Passion for and familiarity with the sport of competition climbing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Deadlines / Deliverables focused.
  • Outstanding organization.
    • Project management and time management.
    • Meeting coordination.
    • Event planning and management.
  • Ability to meet the demands of essential physical tasks including but not limited to:
    • Lifting up to 50lbs.
    • Standing and working on feet for long periods.
    • Climbing stairs, ladders, and climbing walls.
    • Crouching and crawling.

Compensation / Other:

  • Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

  • Position will require regular evening and weekend work.
  • Position will involve frequent out-of-state travel, paid for by USA Climbing (roughly 100 days out of the year).
