USA Climbing Publishes Youth Speed Trials Benchmark Times

Virtual Speed Trial competitions for Youth B, A, and Junior categories are now underway! For more information, please refer to the Virtual Redpoint and Speed FAQ and check your region’s webpage to find a Virtual Speed Trial competition near you.

To earn National Championship eligibility within the Speed discipline, Youth B, A, and Junior Category competitors must achieve a speed time that meets or is faster than their Category’s Youth Qualification Speed Benchmark time for the Speed wall height at a Virtual Speed Trial competition. Competitors may earn a valid speed time within any region.

Youth C competitors may participate in Speed competitions locally, for practice purposes only, provided the host facility has accommodated Rulebook Rule 9.2.3, which is specific to the Youth C category. Youth C Speed results from local competitions are not tracked by USA Climbing. Youth National Championship eligibility in the Speed discipline for the Youth C category will be open to any interested competitor and will not require qualification other than having an active Competitor Membership prior to the registration deadline. The Speed discipline is not sanctioned for the Youth D category at USA Climbing competitions.
