USA Climbing Announces Selections for Medical Committee and NCAA Task Force Positions

USA Climbing Announces Selections for Medical Committee and NCAA Task Force Positions

 

USA Climbing announced today the appointment of individuals to serve on the newly formed Medical Committee and the NCAA Task Force and to fill vacancies on other committees. On August 29th, 2020, the Board of Directors (“Board”) unanimously confirmed the Nominating and Governance Committee (“NGC”) recommendations for the committee positions.

USA Climbing is excited to have the following individuals join the Medical Committee:

Arden O'Neil, Athlete
Ziva Petrin, MD
Kristi Pikiewicz, PhD
Jessica Sporte, Athlete
Austin Ware, Athlete

The Medical Committee shall assist and support the development, implementation, and evaluation of medical-related programs for USA Climbing, including, but not limited to, athlete development protocol, injury reporting protocol, Paraclimbing classification, and more. The NCAA Task Force shall assist and support the development and implementation of climbing as an NCAA sport. Including, but not limited to, creating a vision of climbing as an NCAA sport, identifying target schools, and completing the application for the NCAA Emerging Sports for Women Program. In addition to the above, the Board also approved Sarah Preston, Athlete, Sarah Richardson, and Justin Wyse to fill vacancies on the Collegiate Committee and Karalyn Aronow and Michael Sprague to fill vacancies on the Judges Committee.
