USA Climbing Announces Bid Process for 2021 National Cup Series Events

USA Climbing announced today the bid process for communities wanting to host one of USA Climbing’s 2021 National Cup Series events.

The National Cup Series (NCS) has become a keystone to the development of competitive climbing within the US. Historically focused on bouldering, the 2021 calendar will expand to include bouldering, lead and speed events across four to six events between April and October 2021.

The NCS mission is to provide fun and challenging competition experiences for all levels of adult competitive climbers and cultivate stronger USA Climbing adult participation and membership. With the NCS, USA Climbing aims to provide a seasonal qualification structure and ranking system for high level athletes, to promote and revitalize citizen participation across the US, and to support continued development of a pathway for youth competitors to become climbers for life.

“The National Cup Series is a critical part of our athlete development pipeline,” said Mason Sorey, USA Climbing National Events Manager. “We look forward to exciting competitions and the emerging talent that are identified as part of this series.”

The deadline to submit bids is October 2, 2020. The 2021 National Cup Series locations will be announced in November. Please review the detailed RFP and begin the bid process here.
