On April 19, the International Olympic Committee officially announced the schedule for the 2020 Olympics Games. Sport Climbing will make its Olympic debut on August 4th, 2019 with the men's qualification round at the Aomi Urban Sports Park, the Olympic venue for Sport Climbing 3 vs. 3 Basketball.
The combined men's qualification round will begin with Speed Climbing at 5:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time (JST) / 2:00 a.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST), followed by Lead Climbing, and concluding with Bouldering around 10:40 p.m. JST / 7:40 a.m. MST.
Women's qualification will follow the same climbing schedule on the 5th, starting at 5:00 p.m JST.
Sport Climbing will name its first Olympic Medalists on Thursday, August 6th with the men's combined final taking place at 5:30 p.m. JST / 2:30 a.m. Sport Climbing's debut at the Olympics will conclude with the women's combined final round on August 7th at 5:30 p.m. JST / 2:30 p.m. MST.
