Drawing spectators by the thousands, this top-level climbing competition is now open to the best of the best! The Marquee event of the GoPro Mountain Games, the Vail Cup is a full Friday of qualifying rounds leading into a Saturday Semis and Finals for the record books and camera roll.
The Vail Cup aims to promote the highest level of competition in the country. The top 20 competitors of each gender will earn a spot in the Semi Final round on Saturday morning. The top 6 of each gender will advance to the Finals to earn a piece of the hefty purse and some sweet prizes!
Any competitors 16 or older, by December 31st, 2020 are eligible to register and compete in the open category, with a 2019/2020 USA Climbing Competitor Membership.
The action will all take place at the base of Gondola 1 at the Nature Valley Mountain Plaza, Vail, CO 81657.

Registration fee: $100 until Wednesday, June 3rd at 6:00pm MST.
Late registration fee: $150 will open on Wednesday, June 3rd at 6:00pm and close on Thursday, June 4th at 6:00pm.
Registrants, please be aware; this competition is catered to and designed for high level athletes. The GoPro Mountain Games also offers Youth and Citizen rounds of competition of more compatible categories based upon your skill level.

TIAA Bank Vail Youth Climbing Competition
If you are 18 years or older, you MUST complete SafeSport training before you will be able to register for the TIAA Bank Vail Cup. Below are steps to complete SafeSport training for those who have yet to do so.
- Login to Sport:80
- On your Membership Dashboard, click the tab "Center for SafeSport Training"
- Click the, "Add Center for SafeSport Training" button
- Click, "Add" next to Center for SafeSport Training
If you have previously completed SafeSport training but your certificate is not showing up, please contact Sharlee Holland.
All participants must fill out a 2020 GoPro Mountain Games Liability Waiver prior to checking into the event.
The TIAA Bank Vail Cup's competition Format will be a blend of a Modified Redpoint Qualification Round and Onsight Semi-Final and Final Rounds. Please refer to the most recent version of the USA Climbing Rulebook for more details:
Modified Redpoint: 6.4.6
There will be two male qualification sessions at the competition, in order to balance the high number of competitors expected in the male category. During the registration process please select a preference for which session you would prefer to climb in. Session registrations are on a first come - first served basis.
As the expected number of female competitors is lower than males, the female category will climb during a third session
Friday, June 5th: Modified Redpoint Qualifier Round
- Men's Session 1: 8:30am - 11:30am
- Men's Session 2: 12:00pm - 3:00pm
- Women's Session: 4:30pm - 7:30pm
Saturday, June 6th: Onsight Semi-Final and Final Rounds
- Men's and Women's Semi-Finals: 9:30am
- Women's Final: 4:00pm
- Men's Final: 6:00pm
