National Ranking Tie-Break Factors

If there are tied competitors with same National Ranking points at the end of the season, whichever competitor has competed in at least 2 competitions will be ranked higher. For example, if two competitors have 160 points at the end of the season – Competitor A who placed 2nd in the National Championship (160 points) but only competed in that competition, and Competitor B who placed 4th at the National Championship (110 points), and 8th (40 points) and 21st (10 points) at two other Cup Series events, the latter will receive the higher National Ranking because s/he competed in at least two competitions in the season.

If each competitor has competed in two or more competitions, then whichever competitor has the greatest number of highest finishes will receive the higher National Ranking. For example, if two competitors have 360 points at the end of the season – one who placed 2nd in the National Championship, and 2nd, 3rd and 4th in three Cup Series competitions, another who placed 1st in the National Championship and 2nd and 2nd in two Cup Series competitions, the latter will receive the higher National Ranking because s/he had a 1st place ranking in one of the competitions.
