For the final National Cup Series competition at Ascent Studio, in the interest of accommodating the large number of male competitors possible, and also consistent with the NCS approach to exploring options as the series grows, we will be running two sessions for male competitors. Each session will be a minimum of 3 hours and there will be a thorough cleaning of problems during a short break between sessions.  Note:  As we only expect 50 Female competitors or less, the Female category all climb in the second session, so when registering, Female competitors do not need to list a preference.

Male competitors that are Nationally ranked (i.e. finished top 30 in any of the first 3 NCS competitions) will have the first priority choice of session, on a first-come, first-served basis, when registering prior to 5pm, MST, December 3rd, in order to have their preference considered.  Competitors who are not Nationally ranked (and any Nationally ranked competitors registering after 5pm, MST, Dec 3rd) may list their preference when registering and preferences will be accommodated if possible, but cannot be guaranteed.

In an effort to balance the number of competitors per session, and to take into consideration the preference of Nationally ranked competitors, after one session has 40 competitors registered, we will aim to fill a second session with 40 as well, and if more than 80 male competitors register we will continue to place competitors in sessions based on having a reasonable balance of the number of competitors in each, but where no session has more than 60 competitors.

All competitors who have registered by December 3rd, will receive an email confirming which session they will climb in, shortly after that date.  Any competitors registering after that date but before the completion begins, 3pm, December 14th, will be informed of their session prior to the competition.

An additional note:  As the Qualifying round is a redpoint round open to all, any competitors who will be climbing in the second session will be permitted to watch the first session.  No results will be posted for any competitors, until both sessions have been completed.
